In a hospital set -up, there is need to be screening of waste into groups, thus infectious waste and highly infectious waste. The coding of bins using colour coded to differentiate type of waste. The colours are green, yellow and red, red for very toxic and hazardous waste.Medical waste to include sputum,syringe,needles must be handled with care in sharps container and must be filled to 3/4 and be sealed.
